Geocaching is an outdoor treasure-hunting game in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers (called "geocaches" or "caches") anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook and "treasure", usually toys or trinkets of little monetary value. (1)

We had been interested in trying geocaching for some time.  I received a GPS unit from my wife for Christmas in 2006.  On December 28, 2006 we tried our hand at geocaching.  We made our first find that day and we were hooked.
